PLATINUM dog food as a supplement or alternative to a raw food diet

PLATINUM dog food as a supplement or alternative to “BARF”

“BARF”, an acronym which stands for “biologically appropriate raw foods,” is a term for feeding a dog exclusively raw and self-prepared food, such as fresh meat, bones and vegetables. “BARF” actually means much more though. It reflects pet owners' belief to feed their beloved four-legged companions in a manner similar to their wolf ancestry.

Convinced “Barfers” attach great importance to the choice of fresh products and follow a deliberate plan in feeding their dogs. However, vets take a critical view of this type of nutrition for dogs. They recommend that in addition to all the natural food, pet owners should add necessary ingredients that an animal may not necessarily get through a “BARF” diet. These ingredients need to be prepared separately and mixed into the diet. Ingredients include for example calcium, copper, zinc, iodine, vitamin A and D and also some non-essential but nonetheless sensible additions such as herbs and green lip mussel extract.

PLATINUM dog food is the ideal and perfect alternative or a sensible supplement to a “BARF” diet.

At PLATINUM we also know about the dogs' wolf heritage, but we make no compromises in the quality of our food additive. We also use an unusually high proportion of fresh meat (for PLATINUM MENU at least 83 %). We enrich our complete diet with all the necessary additional ingredients that are required for the balanced nutrition of a healthy and agile dog.

So if you are thinking of “BARF”ing your dog but are reluctant to commit to all the additional time needed (preparing the meals yourself, purchasing, storing and maintaining the freshness of ingredients, mixing in necessary additives, etc.), we strongly recommend PLATINUM pet food!

Many “barfing” dog owners also appreciate our product as an optimal alternative on holidays and other situations where it is hard or impossible to use fresh meat and vegetables. Still other “barfers” supplement PLATINUM with additional fresh ingredients.
